Hacking TWEWY suspend problems

Is the R4 compatible with The World Ends With You (TWEWY) backups?

I'm having a problem every time I go into suspend mode by closing the DS. The game freezes, including sound at a particular tone. Is this a known issue running TWEWY on R4, and is there any workaround other then getting a new flash cart of course
