Can we get a tutorial or faq of all the weird things that happen when someone tries to complete a hard mod. I've seen the same stories that relate to specific capacitors. It's gotten to the point where modding game systems requires microscopes.
 
You can still do it with good eyes and a steady hand. I won't lie a nice mantis or something akin to it is great to have but you can still do it.

Anyway a list is as varied as what people do. "slip" with a soldering iron and you might knock off a component but you could also gouge out a nice section and clip a trace (which might well be matched impedance). If you short something then you get the fun and games of that, plus whatever might happen if you don't catch it and power the thing on, and if you happen to decide to drop a blob of solder...
