Homebrew Tubehax stuck at debug?

When I launch Tubehax, sometimes it gets stuck at debug screen. What is causing this? I've selected the correct firmware.

Also, since I'm asking, what is the difference between homemenu extdatatool and CHMM 2?

Should there be any backing up before I edit my themes?
