Hardware Trying to fix a 2DS

I have a 2DS that is missing a shoulder button spring. Is there anything I can replace it with? A similar spring?

If not, where can I find a cheap replacement?

I also found a very small square piece with a hole in the middle that fell down from the 2DS. What is it, exactly?

For retractable ballpoint pens girthier than your typical #2 standard pencils, their springs would be too wide.

You want to look for cheap, knock off versions of the Pentel P205/P207 mechanical pencils. See the spring's small diameter below. I think Office Deport / Office Max has crappy replicas sold under the FORAY brand. I don't know if those common BIC Matic pencils have springs in them, but they look to be the right size. If you got a BIC laying around, sacrifice one for 3DS repair research.

If you gut a genuine, Japanese made Pentel pencil, I pray that your R-shoulder button lives too short of a life in Mario Kart 7, Super Smash, etc.

Edit - Try finding a PNC or another bank branch that carries this pen design.
