Hi there,

Tricky Towers is not launching for me, it keeps throwing the "Software could not be started, please try again from home menu" error.

I'm on newest Atmosphere and Hekate and am using the newest SigPatches.
I also tried installing the NSPs with different tools, Goldleaf and dbi.
I even tried isntalling the XCI with dbi.

Nothing helped.

On the switch of a friend who is also running Atmosphere it's working.
Way back on SX OS it was also working.

All other games work.

You should pay the maintenance mode a visit.
I also had two games that wouldn't start for the love of god until I went to that mode (Door Kickers + the arcade version of it).

How? Short version:

While loading fusee.bin hold both volume buttons and keep holding them until you reach the mode, if you inject fusee directly, hold the buttons from RCM onwards, if you chainload fusee from hekate hold the buttons before and after tapping the boot entry for Atmosphere.
Inside the mode take a look at the first option, it should state your FW and CFW version and if you booted the mode for sysNAND or emuNAND, which is important in case you use an emuNAND, both NANDs don't affect each other.
Nevertheless you do NOTHING and just reboot by holding POWER until the Switch turns off and then turning it on like you normally do.

Try going into Maintenance Mode and rebooting (steps 1 and 2 but not 3)

Is your Switch firmware up to date? Newer games require newer firmware.

The problem is that only covers going to the mode for sysNAND (on non-Core-installed-consoles).
Just pressing the POWER and the volume buttons would only get me to hekate on my Mariko unit for example.
I only have my V1 for reference and that “works for me” so I appreciate the additional perspective.

Omg, it actually worked. Thanks so much.
