I was wondering if there was an english translation file/patch for Hudsonsoft's Puzzle Series Vol. 5 Slitherlink.

I have been able to figure out about half of the buttons on my own, and am almost 45% done with the puzzles.

I would just like to know for sure that I am getting everything out of the game I could if I knew what each button did. Like is there a button to reset a puzzle, or back out to where you choose each puzzle?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yup

I've catalogued every single part in the rom that needs translating, and I'm all ready for editing - just need a translator now. There may not be tons of text, but everything is in graphics format, meaning it may take a little while to get all the editing done - I'd probably be using an online translator like Excite if that wasn't the case. Anyway, I've put in a request for a translator at romhacking.net, but if anyone has decent English to Japanese translation abilities, I would greatly appreciate your help.

In fact, I'd be happy even if people could just identify characters for me (so I can get stuff in plain text format) - it'd just be for basic stuff like menus.

Edit: I've set up a wiki page: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/index.php/User:Dir...ink_Translation
Anyone can feel free to identify or translate stuff.

I am not a translator (maybe you think my dutch is the same as my japanese

I'' am editing your wiki right now ! Using:
1 http://www.hudson.co.jp/puzzle/slitherlink/gamemode.html
2 http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr

Searching in 1 for the right words and translating that page with 2

Because I am dutch, some translations might be too literal. But others can help with that, i hope.

Sorry to say: this is not going to work: I do need the japanese characters as text not as image

If I was able to get the text and translate the majority from web translators I would have already done so.

I'm closing this topic now, use the official topic for further discussion.
