So I updated my G6 to 4.6 so that I could try the GBA Linkage function for Pokemon Diamond.
After updating succesfully I deleted the ROM so that I could rewrite it, this time with soft-reset and the GBA Linkage function. So I backed up my 3 save files using the G6 Manager, rewrote the ROM and rewrote the saves. The ROM runs fine but my save is lost. I tried everything to get it back, downgrading back to 4.3, using old settings, copy pasting, whatever I could think of, with no success.

Is my 26 hour save really lost? Or can I still write it someway? Help would be very much appriciated

For someone who want to keep the current gamesave data of "poke" games.
1) Run the game and make sure that the gamesave data is still exist.
2) Install the "PC U-disk Manager Version V4.6" and update the "G6 loader V4.6".
3) Copy the game by using the "U-disk Manager Version V4.6" as usual.
4) Use the "Up/Down" button to select the game at the G6 main menu. Press the "select" button and the saver menu will appear. Choose the option of "Sram -> Default" and press the button "A" to confirm.
note:
-The last gamesave data will be stored into the default gamesave file after doing the step 4.
-Please do not load other ds games or program through the above steps and must remember to do the step 4 (IMPORTANCE).

Sorry, but look at the bright side: The GBA slot transfering doesn't work anyway!
So even if you still had your save you wouldn't be able to transfer.
EDIT: My save just got corrupted and deleted too

Anyway, try this: delete the game, redownload it, and name it differently, then upload it to the g6 and rename the savefiles to the name of the new one. It might work.
EDIT: IT WORKS, DO IT NAO!
My precious save is back!

    @Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

    At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

    @SylverReZ,
    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
