Has anyone been able to get Tomodachi Life to work?
I've tried both the US and the EU version of the game, and both of them seem to freeze at startup.
Note that I haven't upgraded the EmuNand to 8.0(Still on 7.1)

It won't work until Gateway finds a workaround for the new save encryption method. It's for the same reason that emunand 8.x won't work.

It's not save encryption...that's why some games saves are not cross compatible between classic mode and a real updated console.
Basically there are currently 2 issues that make emunand not perfect
6.x save encryption(but that ones not a biggie)
And
7.x rom encryption(this is the one that spell disaster for future game compatibility if not resolved)

I realise you probably meant this in your post, but though it was worth clarifying :P

can you please explain the 6.x save encryption issue

can you please explain the 6.x save encryption issue
Basically most games that where released with 6.x onwards used a new save encryption method that was added in 6.x, now seeing as this is just to encrypt/decrypt the save which is generated on the console anyway, gateway just supplied a different encryption key, this causes issues if you played the game on a genuine console then want to play in classic mode as gateway doesn't have the real encryption key so it is unable to decrypt a 6.x encrypted save that was made on a genuinely updated console.....and a genuinely updated console is unable to decrypt a gateway classic mode save because it is encrypted with a incorrect key, basically the current method works fine as long as you stick to playing the game on either a genuinely updated console or in classic mode but it means the saves are not interchangeable

So as you can see yeah it's not good, but in the grand scheme of things it's not that big

so, i used to play pokemon x on a updated 3ds and now i brough a new 3ds for the gateway. will i be able to play pokemon? or my save is useless now?

So, can I backup the save file and rom of Pokémon x and play it on gateway? Or it won't change anything?

if you were playing the pokemon game on a 'normal' 3ds, without gateway, etc, so, if the 3ds was on fw 6.0+, then no, the gateway will not be able to read that save :(
(if you were playing the pokemon cart using gateway ('classic mode'), then it will work)

- but, yes, you can back it up, but gateway cannot read it. gateway said they are working on something new, letting us play newer games, maybe in a few months your save will work :)
