Thread seems to be nearly dead but I am the lesser version of Rayder when it comes to tomatoes (be they cooked or otherwise) and the less said about what happens after I munch a tomato product the better. A pain as they otherwise are a great bulking agent for sauces and are contained in many premade foods, tomatillos are an OK substitute (if not rare and expensive around here) and you can work around it though.

@Veho Pasteurisation gained such a foothold as it does not cook things (other than tasty bacteria) in any significant way.

As for sauces I will also go the chilli sauce (be it sweet or regular) but I am going to argue salad cream is the superior sauce by far.

Tomatoes are only good for me when they are liquidised. I can't stomach them in any other form. They make a pizza great but even then the sauce needs herbs.

Potatoes are awesome as you can do so much with them,t. Just stick one in the oven for over an hour and just stick some butter and cheese on after for an easy meal or chip them, slice them, mash them or whatever for variety. A perfect ingredient.

A fruit somewhat like the tomato when it comes to cooking with them but they do not cause me issues so I tend to prefer them.
A site with something on them:

They are not unheard of in Europe but I generally have to go out of my way to find them (can't say I checked for any in Belgium but I saw a few in some of the more exotic shops in the Netherlands).

Oh and those wondering what about pizza: garlic pizza sauce, a few places do it both stateside (papa murphy's did one when I was in Washington state) and in the UK*. Makes you desperately unpleasant to be around the next day but very tasty.

*if you are a fan of the ASDA create a pizza (I normally avoid the place but these are good) thing ask about it and you can usually get something done.

Potatoes. They're good by themselves, but tomatoes aren't.
have you actually eaten a raw potato?
tastes horrible with the starch unless cooked
