when i started hacking my switch, i used tinfoil to enter rcm. of course, i didn't have any paperclips so i took the risk of making my joycon unattachable. nowadays i use paperclips
nowadays the fact that i have to detach my left joycon each time i wanna play is peeving me off since the right joy con doesn't wanna admit to be attached, claiming to be wireless.
i put the foil on the joycon so it might be the joycon that's problematic
but it could also be some destroyed pins of the rail
guess that's why they call it tinFOIL.
what do you think i should replace, the right rail or the right joycon? or is there a different way to repair it altogether (afaik one could a joycon firmware update but i can't gurantee the workiness)
when i get the issue fixed i might enable autorcm to reduce risks

okay, so my cons r unfortunately up to date
but i think i figured out the rails are at fault
it is possible to flip the joycons in some way, like putting the right joycon flipped in the left rail as represneted in this crude drawing of mine

if the switch detects a joycon connected in the opposite side like that, it will claim there's no joycon. you can also use this as a fallback for charging joycons.
connecting the blue joycon to the faulty right rail does not make the joycon disappear on the switch's ui, confirming the rail is nonfunctional. thus i am gonna order a rail replacement since thats the problem i've been experiencing it seems. Off to amazon then

Who even uses paperclips to enter RCM mode each time? You risk damaging the JoyCon rail if you accidentally join the pins next to it. A safer option is to buy a jig and RCM device from AliExpress. Not only is it safer, but you don't damage anything in the process, or go through enabling AutoRCM in Hekake.

Your first mistake was *tinfoil - even worse than using a paperclip. You'll need to replace the rail by taking the console apart which isn't an easy process by all means.
