Hacking Tinfoil Error - loading icon

Hello,

can anyone help me with installing tinfoil?

I've installed latest atmosphere CFW on my unpatched Switch - 11.0.1 OFW, 16.0.1 CFW if i'm not wrong. Also I've downloaded latest Sigpatches and latest Tinfoil from the following links; any help?

The tinfoil icon on your home screen is a forwarder, forwarder use loader patches, depends on your Atmosphere build and the way you load atmosphere , you use the correct patches with it.

If you load with Hekate-> Fusee Secondary you use Hekate/Fss0 patches
If you load with Hekate-> Fusee-Primary->Fusee Secondary, or Fusee-Primary->Fusee Secondary you use Fusee Patches.

Depends on which bootloader you using,

If you load with Hekate-> Fusee Secondary you use Hekate/Fss0 patches
If you load with Hekate-> Fusee-Primary->Fusee Secondary, or Fusee-Primary->Fusee Secondary you use Fusee Patches.

I updated to 11.0.1 and Tinfoil work fine for me.

Depends on how you are boot Atmosphere, check that first, you using fusee-primary or Hekate?

Which bootloader are you using to boot CFW: Hekate or fusee-primary?

Since you are using Hekate you need Hekate patches

Fusee-Primary is the official bootloader for Atmosphere but you have alternative way to load up Atmosphere with Hekate loading into Fusee-Secondary to load up Atmosphere CFW. Hekate is a multi function bootloader that can do other things like create Emummc, do NAND backup etc.

Where you sourcing your CFW file from, from a repack or from Atmosphere github directly?

Well, I downloaded SD files from: https://www.sdsetup.com/console?switch Recommended defaults

and I'm using hekate_ctcaer_5.5.1 payload to boot to CFW

That build is on pre-release, 0.16.1, technically you don't need to use a rebuild pack like SD Setup or Deepsea, you should learn how to use a vanilla Atmosphere. Alternatively you could use Deepsea there is a 0.16.2 build out there.

Read this and just use the vanilla Atmosphere, and use fusee patches.

Ummm basically guide told me to edit my existing ini file, which I did and copied fuse-primary.bin to the payloads folder. And what's next? I still can't install tinfoil

You using Fusee Patches ?
