Baby I like it! Well, let's see how you guys like week two!
FlingSmash (Wii)
Guild's Take: Nintendo's newest Wii Motion Plus game (as well as pretty much the inaugural for the Wii Remote Plus) looked like a fun little game, but as reviews have shown, Nintendo has come up more than short.
The Scores:
+Nintendo Power: 7.5/10
+Destructoid: 7/10
+Gamespot: 4/10
+IGN: 4/10
Metascore: 55%
Sonic Colors (Wii)
Guild's Take: After years of mediocre Sonic games, it seems like Sega may have actually hit something good her, providing one of the few great 3D Sonic games that also has plenty of 2D platforming. Combining some new mechanics from Sonic Rush and Sonic 4 while still keeping some of that old time Sonic magic, it seems like Colors may be the Sonic game worth owning.
The Scores
+Nintendo Power: 9/10
+Official Nintendo Magazine UK: 8.6/10
+IGN: 8.5/10
+Gamespot: 8/10
+Eurogamer: 8/10

Call of Duty: Black Ops (Wii)
Guild's Take: The Wii version of Activision's biggest franchise has, like its predecessors on the system, been getting better. Now finally adding a Zombies mode, Classic Controller support, and voice chat, this seems to be the best Wii romp for the franchise yet.
The Scores
+Gamespot: 9/10

+IGN: 7.5/10

Special: Call of Duty: Black Ops (PC/PS3/360)
For this special, I'll be comparing metascores of all three of the HD versions of this year's Call of Duty, then comparing metascores to the previous three Call of Dutys.
Guild's Take: It seems like the general trend of Treyarch games being outdone by the Infinity Ward ones. But from reading reviews, I see a lot of complaints drawing to how it's little more than just another Call of Duty game with a few changes, while World at War was criticized for its core game play. Perhaps the franchise is getting worn down on critics. I know it has for many people. But as long as it sells 5.6 million copies on its opening week, they'll be pooping one out every year.
