Hello, ive had my wii for years everything has been fine but all of a sudden when i try to launch homebrew channel it gives me this black screen with the software must not be sold message i didnt change anything on the wii or sdcard any thoughts?

It's already updated. That screen disappears after waiting and hitting a button a couple times. No more than 5-10s on screen before hb channel shows up

Yeah, I am using r1260. Works perfect for me. Try installing a USBL channel/forwarder if all else fails.

Also note that if you're using the "full channel" from 3.0 it's not supported anymore. You'll need to remove it and install the forwarder instead.

Channel ID is UNLR
Forwarder ID is UNEO

I have priiloader setup to launch into USBloadergx which i then would launch homebrew channel from. I'm not sure exactly where the problem lies its been a while since ive been on this. I have a usbloadergx dol file that priiloader loads could that be outdated?

1)
don't launch HBC from USBLoaderGX channel listing mode.
Use the "Home" menu to exit to HBC instead.

if you don't have "exit to HBC", go to settings>GUI settings>Home menu>full

2)
Don't install USBLoaderGX into priiloader
if USBLoaderGX has an update it will copy the new boot.dol on SD:/apps/usbloader_gx/boot.dol
but will NEVER been launch as priiloader's installed version will be used instead...

install the forwarder.dol inside priiloader to be sure it always launch the updated dol from the loader's path.

It could be.

The file you would want to install is the 5.1 version of the forwarder dol for Wii. (link)
Then just get the latest Homebrew app dol and put it on your hard drive. (link)

You can test to see if you have the old full channel installed by trying to start it from the system menu without an SD card or USB drive attached. If it loads it's the full channel.
You can remove it by using this file to uninstall it with a WAD manager. (I think you can just delete the channel from the Wii configuration menu, too.)

If you install the forwarder dol and put the newer boot.dol, meta.xml and icon.png in usb:/apps/usbloader_gx you should go straight to the loader when you turn on the console.
