Can Wii U output in 240p for Wii U games?

I have it hooked up to a widescreen CRT as I love the motion smoothness especially with the 60fps Wii U games, but it plays in 480i which has this blur to it.

Similar to the backup loaders on the Wii where you could choose the video output, I was wondering if it would be possible to implement something similar with loadiine in the future?

Umm, no, i don't think so, i guess maybe if you use some converter capture card or something, but i don't know any kind of thing to render anything lower than 480P in 2017 :P

Unless i'm wrong, is there a homebrew tool that can change system settings a lot more than the default firmware allows, then maybe?

240p? CRT?!

I thought on the off chance the 240p mode from VC titles could be used somehow... a man can dream.

Sometimes I use a CRT on Wii U too, with my capture card.
Legit reason to use the Wii U on a CRT, atleast it's possible thanks to Nintendo! No matter what year it is, old is gold!
One disadventage though, even on a CRT, just a standard 4:3 one, black borders will appear on VC titles o.o

Well like i said, you either need to use some kind of image converter capture card equipment that downscale the games, which again, in 2017 finding that may be easier said than done. Or perhaps someone can create a homebrew for it, i dunno if this is possible but i never know what kind of system tools people can make for these things. :P

Post a request in the homebrew request thread.
