Messy station I know. From left to right Summercart64, Memcard Pro2, and DS Pico. This is all within about the last 2-3 months, plus I do have an OEM PS2 network adapter with the sata upgrade, but I went ahead and got another one, because I have a blue phat PS2... Setup PSBBN on the black one and I dig it. I could of got one of the cheaper third party adapters, but just wanted to get OEM, as I think full PSBBN works only with Oem adapter. I may not even do it and just keep opl setup, but in case I want to I'll have that option... Adapter was $38 and the bitfunx sata upgrade kit was like $15. So it's not the cheaper way to go to say, but I guess it's the more "official way" Not only that, the OEM network adapters actually have network connectivity, whereas I don't believe the third party ones do, although I'm not sure. Word.

Since my shoebox was getting full of all of these flashcarts, I've been meaning to purchase an appropriate case for a while. @Apache Thunder suggested that I should pick up the foam cases from Data Frog who are selling R4-branded cases, and after a few months go by, I decided to order x2 of them off AliExpress.

Each case comes with pre-inserted foam inserts; removing them isn't easy feat, so you have to use tweezers being careful not to damage the layers around, but I've had no issues doing so. The cases can only fit up to 20 carts. They're very study and will not get damaged if they're bumping about, so I honestly suggest you grab one of these over the cheap, flimsy plastic cases that scratch up the carts.

4 (maybe 5?) original R4s, why so many? just a mix of the launch version with spring and spring less versions? Just missing the launch white shell version :(.

*R4DS v2 (genuine) x2 (one with & without box); x3 OG R4 v2 (clone); x1 R4DS v1 (later black, genuine); M3 DS Simply (rebadged R4, v2). So that is approximately seven R4 cards altogether.

Mixture of both bare clones & original carts that I found whilst visiting car boot sales and conventions; I got them for really cheap and only bought them when I had the chance. The one with the curve is version 1 with a spring-loaded slot, which hasn't broken yet and has a black shell, and that is the only later model of that, which came right after the white variant. I know that I'm missing the white shell variant, but I could never find this one in person, but it's going to be about the same as V1.

Why so many?
I'm not going to dodge the question; that's what I thought to myself, too. Had another person I showed this picture to ask the same question, so you're not the first. It's a tough answer to solve, but to put it simply (no pun intended), it's that I got them when I had the chance. But now that I think about it more, I don't need too many of the V2s, so I might end up selling some of them (bare carts, of course; in no way am I selling the boxed one).

Earlier this week I received a couple of things I had ordered last week from AliExpress and Temu for the Switch 2 (I ordered other stuff, but those weren't gaming related).

The case was from AliExpress for 7€ and I'm surprised at how comfortable it is (more than the grips I bought for over 25€) and how cool it is.

The anti reflection Mate tempered screen was a set of 3 for 2,50€ on Temu, it's honestly way better than I expected. I should have gotten some earlier.

Ah bootsales, yeah doubt you will find the original white shell there. I thought maybe you were getting them in trade sections online and similar. Only the first batch with both shells and doubtful most really cared about whatever shell they were not using, so I would be really surprised for one to just random turn up.

Buying because you have the chance is fine :D, I've done the same with many things, my Snes JR was a "had to the chance to buy" even though I don't really use it much. I got a DSpico just because, well it was there and it looks nice :D. Don't need it, have an original r4, acekard, a gateway blue and an ace3dsX if I wanted to play ds stuff, don't even use my ds anymore, but the pico looked so nice

Others aside from the R4DS, DSTT, and a few others, come from eBay and other online marketplaces, but I make sure not to pay too much and only wait until good deals come up. But yes, car boot sales, convention stalls dedicated to retro games, (rarely) flea markets, will have them.

There's nothing wrong with buying from online marketplaces, and I have bought flashcarts like my SuperCard Prime and DSpico from AliExpress. I am honestly loving the DSpico out of the bunch and I got it when they first appeared; it kills the competition for being open-source and DSi-mode compatible, this is currently my recommendation thus far, and is my main flashcart on my 3DS.

I bought an NES and Sega Genesis 6 button controller from Gamestop. They of course sent a 3 button controller, which I have to exchange. Also, that price tag on the Sega controller is a lie, it wasn't 10 dollars, it was like 13.
I also bought a Sega Saturn controller from Gamestop, and it arrived feeling brand new, lol.

I also won 3 auctions for 3 N64 controllers. lol

I also won an auction for a Sega Genesis model 2! It'll be fun to see what's wrong with it. lol

A few months ago, I won all these Playstation 1 consoles, and they all work. lmao! I didn't notice the shipping, and bidded when I was half asleep.
Well, that was easy. There was nothing wrong with the model 2 at all. I just played Sonic 2 on it for like an hour, and no issues. I bought Sonic 2 game from a thriftstore like 20 years ago for like 2 bux, and confirmed that worked too. I don't know if the listing means that the Sega CD connector is broken, but IDGAF, as I'm never going to buy a Sega CD. Have anyone seen the Sega CD prices?! Wtf? lmao

The frontal sticker of my car battery charger got faded so I designed a new one and send to the local shop for making a new one on DTF, they charge you by the centimeter so I filled the rest of with some other pictures, now the USB which come with the printer have their correct marking.

Been looking for a XG-Flash writer for the 256M model from over a year ago; ordered the writer on eBay for about 15 bucks and now I have two of the carts. :P

Removed the sticker on the XG-Flash 256M because the sticker has already been screwed up when I bought it, so I'm gonna be either printing or purchasing a replacement label.

Unfortunately, my leopard gecko tank got infested with ants coming in from outside because of the cold weather here, so I had to completely strip it down. So, no more bioactive enclosure for him. Thankfully, they didn't mess with him(Fucking hate ants)

For now, I ordered a roll of vinyl flooring(reptile safe and non-adhesive)for his tank. It's coming tomorrow, and I have to cut it to size, but I'll have a bunch of it.

My nephew's birthday is soon, so I ordered him a 24" 180hz 1080p monitor to replace his old dying 21" 60hz cheap office monitor he was using (a 1600x900p monitor). Its from a brand called sansui. Honestly they are cheap decent monitors. I use a 27" 240hz 1440p monitor from them and a 24" 100hz 1080p monitor with my security system.

What's up with the disc taped to the 360 :rofl2:

The rest is messy but understandable, but that little detail, just wow. I bet it's a burnt demo for XeUnshackle. Probably better than keeping the disc in the drive, but I'm sure there were many other places you could have put it... :D

That one looks awesome! Can you post the link so that I can maybe buy one as well? I've been looking for a decent case few months ago and couldn't find a decent one with a separate cases for joy-cons and the tablet.

Do you need the grips?

For some reason the one I got now costs over 20€, while the normal ones without grip cost 7€/8€.

W/O Grip:

With Grip:

Being able to remove the Joycons is definitely the best bit, when I pre-ordered the Switch 2 I also got a transparent case that had grips as well but it atracted dust too easily, after that I got several cases with grips but none allowed to remove them.

Thanks for the links. I'll look for something cheaper but it's good to have stock images to search with on AliExpress. Might take a look over on Temu as well to see if there's anything new there.

I dunno if I got the last pair or if the guy got the price wrong or what (or maybe ran out of stock since the product page for mine was actually removed).

I found these that seem to be the same, you have some for like 9€:
