No joke, when I used to have a reptile focused pet store near me, two guys came in and asked if they sold frozen rats. When the employee went to get them 4 jumbo rats each, I overheard one say to the other, "We are going to eat good tonight."

After they bought them, I asked the employee if he heard what they said, and he said no and looked like he was going to be sick after I told him what they said.

I mean, these are mice and rats raised basically as clean as you can raise them. They are ment for peoples pets. At least it's better than catching wild rats with who knows what diseases they could have.

ha ha ha, you made me remember a joke from when I was a kid saldy only works in spanish. Had to do with speaking «rat» in asian accent sound exactly like «can» in spanish. so you can eat canned meat or rat meat. in spanish with asian accent sound the same.

aren't those things a bit dangerous tho?
The sting is basically a bee sting, so unless you're deathly allergic to bee stings, no. I used to keep a lot more hotter(one sting and I'm dead) species of scorpions before I got out of the hobby. I used to have deathstalker scorpions, and that wasn't even the most hottest I'd had. Honestly, no matter how venomous or not any animal is (just that one scorpion now), I always tong-feed(cat not included). Remember, anything with a mouth(or stinger in this case) can and will bite; it's the same for any dog, cat or person.

Got this pretty nice Brother (PT-P710BT) label maker and strapped a raspberry pi to it so I can print labels over SSH or through my own webapp.

Brother's software is okay but it's not as easy as loading up a webpage and typing in whatever you want on or adding graphics from literally any device.

Only gripe is that they positioned the auto-cutter far away from the print head so this thing wastes about 20mm (almost an inch) of tape each time unless you batch print. :\

Folding keyboards are the bane of my existence...

Amazon had a bunch of them, but neither do I favour them, nor did any Amazon sites but Amazon US have them to my knowledge. Shipping from US to EU costs a fortune, so obviously that wasn't an option.

At some point, I got a white label (generic "Avatto" brand) Donar Electronic/Leetop BT1505:

Notice the seamless fold in the middle. When unfolded, they turn into a (mostly) standard keyboard that's pretty serviceable for touch typing.

The problem was that Steam Deck OLED's FC66E-B WiFi/BT chip (or firmware) glitches out when the keyboard is connected, unless it is the first connection after pairing. The Bluetooth keyboard chip in the keyboard is CYW20730A2KFBG, and another keyboard that appears to use it is Keychron K8.

Well, I made a very obvious mistake in the meantime, and got what appears to be a white label (generic brand) HT-B023:

Do you see it yet? No? Well, notice the gap on the fold; it is the exact thing I made sure to avoid the first time around! It is as bad as it looks; touch typing is much harder, not only due to the fold, but also the unusual key sizes. I feel so stupid for not seeing it right away.

I have no idea about its internals, and there are no FCC compliance docs to infer the information from, but at least this one doesn't cause issues with the Deck...

Are pens and paper out of the question?? They won't use that for drawing 🤪
Yes if you ask me
My apartment is clogged with a forest's worth of drawings and I don't have any more room for my Lego sets :tpi: I'm switching the kids to a paperless format before I am buried in a pile of old paper.

Ah, got ya! I moved all my kids drawings into safe storage (a box 🤣) to keep for when they were older as they grown up now 😢 will pull them out at some family get together for embarrassment and nostalgia purposes!

The transmission in my wife's minivan is getting pretty bad, but at 230k miles it's kind of not worth it to replace soo...
8.jpg

Had 86k miles on it, no rust, no accident history, interior looked well taken care of, got it for $8k OTD. Not a terrible price, not amazing either, but with the way most used car prices are in the US it's about as good as I'll ever get.

Figured I'd just give my wife my Mitsubishi Mirage to replace the van, and picked up just a little sedan for myself. Nothing crazy fancy, in theory the Skyactiv engine and 6 speed transmission in these are supposed to last forever with proper maintenance, and they're supposed to be very easy to work on for anything else so I'm pretty happy with it.

Ordered some parts to upgrade my old 120GB iPod Classic. I ordered a 2-micro SD adapter, a 2000mAh battery, a silver thick backing(cause of the bigger battery), and a replacement headphone/hold button cable in case I break the one in mine when I open it.
