I have two. A black/grey Japanese model, and a (U) purple Funtastic w/matching controller. Not much of a game catalog though, cuz I didn't get into N64 until years after it was already dead. I've got 5 original games, and an ED64 2.5. I'm gonna get as much use out of what I have for the next few months and wait to see if a 'jailbreak' firmware gets released, and if that doesn't happen then I'll get a Summercart mid-year for my birthday.

Very cool. I remember when they came out, made a big splash for sure. I ALSO remember when KILER INSTINCT hit arcades, "ULLLLTRA 64"! Man, people were lining up to play that game, with me included. Too bad they just called it the Nintendo64, I really liked ULTRA64 much better. :)

My first exposure to the N64 was a demo kiosk loaded with SM64, in a Blockbuster. I was almost 30 years old and it was like all the fantasies me & my friends had been entertaining for the previous 20 years re: the future of video games were finally coming true. I don't think there's ever been a bigger leap in consumer video games, except maybe for the original awe of actually controlling the up/down motions of a white rectangle on a real TV screen (Pong). I was there to experience that too, 50 years ago. damn.

I liked your reference to PONG. I was there too! Me and my brother crawled into one of those giant GOODWILL bins (larger than a port-o-let but smaller than a car - anybody here remember those things?). It was just outside the back of the Gainesville Mall that people dumped all kinds of stuff into. So I crawled into it whie my brother held to door open for light and such, and boy WE HIT PAYDIRT. Yep - it was TELE something, not Telecast because that's an axe. Not Telegames because that was Sears and that was before they ripped off the Atari 2600.

This thing had two light-guns with it, 1 holstered on each side, and two radial dials (think Tempest), one on each side. It had like 6 or 7 games on it, PONG BEING ONE. Took it home, connected it to the TV, and it lit right up! It was quite the fun until I got a 2600 for Christmas. But yeah, that is some old-school gaming shit right there!!!

Ironically my first PS1 game (ignoring Demo One) was the 2D game Mickey's Wild Adventure, which was a port of the MD/SNES game Mickey Mania.

Hey Tech, that Deme Disk you menitoned, did that have a purple and black face on it, and did it come with Wipeout? I think also Jumping Flash???

EDIT: I purchased my PS1 on DAY ONE, PREORDERED AND EVERYTHING., I only had money for 2 games, Battle Arena Toshinden and Ridge Racer. Man, I was so overloaded with JOY for this thing, it was just FUCKING AWESOME.

Very cool.

Mine came with this..

Sony Demo and PreOrder Disks.jpg

Actually, the disc on the left was a demo disk that was packed in with the PlayStation. The disc on the right was quite different. It was a disc that I got when preordering the PS1. I think I got it around 3 weeks before its release in September. So, while waiting for the console to arrive, the black disk had a bunch of music you could listen to. This was my introduction to KorRn's "Blind". I've been hooked on them since. So there was other music as well, some of it good some of it shit. H O W E V E R...

When you get the PlayStation, you take the black disc and put it into the console and you get shit that you had no clue was on the disc. Ther was a totally 3-D Tyrannosaurus Rex that would run, roar, and you could make it spin around in 360 degrees. It was really quite cool. And they had another one that had all of these 3-D balls all bouncing around in the boundaries of your TV's screen. Multi-colored, different sizes, etc. It was like watching a billiards match on acid.

Nevertheless, great stuff, and all of it was showing off what the PlayStation could do. :)

Just arrived. Like I said, more to come! I'll likely build this thing on Monday, too much shit to do for now, and 12 pieces shy of 800 will take a few hours to build.

While it's a knock-off of Legos, it's a good knock-off. It got solid good reviews on Amazon, and LEGO does not sell this item. I'm looking forward to the build.

4 now! Pong for the Atari was awesome, didn't own one as we were poor, but my mate had an atari and pong for it. Start of my gaming journey I guess.

Recently got the goonies ship from lego, likely won't build it, might just keep in boxed and unopened, but I bought a lovely display cabinet too, so who knows I might build it. I've a few other cool lego pieces too, like Optimus/Soundwave/Bumblebee etc.

Got one of these too;

Update on my server build.

Trying to reduce power consumption but seem to be stuck at 70w with the HDDs spun down.

What's worse is that it seems to be unstable and crashing with c-states enabled, currently trying a kludge by slightly increasing voltage in UEFI.

With c-states disabled it's up to 80w.

I ended up buying what is the cheapest AM4 that is compatible with my mobo, a Ryzen 4100 as an alternative for £56.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09VCRQVWM

Also case is an even bigger PoS than I thought because it can barely fit my 3.5" HDDs.

The lower bays can only let me screw in one side and the higher one is blocked by the mobo power cable.

I have ordered some 5.25" brackets off Amazon which were due to be delivered yesterday.....but hadn't even been dispatched by 17:30.

Considering how much of a **** show this has turned into, I'm thinking renaming the server to something stupid like 'slop', in honour of the AI which prompted me to do this in the first place and the mess it has turned into.

I was amazed by a puzzle called casino, https://puzzlepusher.com/2019/03/18/casino-dr-volker-latussek/ so I made reverse engineering and printed it, become so funny as I did think.

The puzzle consist of 6 «casino chips» which should be put inside the box

But initially only 5 fits

after some «magical» moves all chips fit indeed inside t he box
