Ordered an LG 43" LED TV 1080p, yeah I know it's not 4K, but to be honest as long as it's 1080p it's fine with me. Just no 720p. 😅 Oh, and since it's a Smart TV I'm going to debloat it via ADB AppControl, I don't want any apps or ads on it.

I've also got most of the Switch 2 accessories I bought from AliExpress:
- Case (screen protector as a free bonus)
- Rear cover for the handheld

Also on the way it's a grip charging controller and a grip controller. It was cheap so if I don't use it just resell it. Eh.

With the Smart TV side of things, I personally just never accepted the terms and conditions on mine and never gave it info to go online. Seems happy enough lol. Even putting the data privacy stuff aside, Smart TV apps are just so crap. Much better experience from a dedicated box like a Shield TV.

That's even simpler than that - NEVER let it find out what interwebs are. Ever. My 6 year old Sony 55" is a net virgin and will eventually die so.

EXACTLY! Keep it self-contained, forever and ever, and ever.

When I first got my Android smart TV, I put it online mainly to download and set up RetroArch and never took it offline. After about three months, it decided that the update it just downloaded (a firmware update) was no good and bricked itself at the end. I called the company and emailed them for over a week but received no reply. Thankfully, I got ahold of support through their subreddit, and after confirming my TV model, they sent me an offline update file, which took about 5 minutes to reflash the firmware and fix it. It hasn't been connected to the internet since.

Welp, came across another rack server for cheap ($60) and figured it was time to "upgrade" from my Dell R710.

This time got a Lenovo ThinkServer RD330. Supposed to have 1x Xeon E5 E2450 and 6x 16GB of RAM that they may have pulled, along with 4x/8x 3.5"/2.5" drive slots which I'm sure they also pulled  Was told it powers on and was working "when it was last in service 5 years ago" and it doesn't look like they pulled much out of it based on the photos so hopefully shouldn't need too much work to get up and running.

Will likely stuff whatever the max specs you can in it, given E5 E2450s are like $10 a piece, and might try and max out the RAM if I find some cheap 16GB DDR3 ECC bundles, but should make a nice enough upgrade over what I got now.
Got the server last week, ended up having 104GB of RAM (6x16GB and 2x4GBs? Weird config but ok lol), 2x E5 2407s, and 3 3TB HDDs in it. Booted right up, whoever was using it last had setup an Ubuntu web server with Zangief as the name  But had no passwords or anything so just wiped it and set the 3TB HDDs up in a RAID0 for now, will eventually replace them with new drives if I find any good deals.

Ordered E5-2470s to put in it, brought it from 4c/4t each to 8c/16t each. Technically not on the supported CPU list in the documentation, but put them in this morning and they work just fine so should be good :yay:

Also ordered a 128GB SSD to throw in for my Proxmox install, once that's all done I'll migrate everything from my old server over and run through some of my usual tasks to see how much faster it is than my old server.
