Received my mig flash v1 today
But i will wait for further investigation/update regarding ban issue and the ability to update game /add DLC through the mig itself.

Playing game with unable to update it, is realy considerable drawback and ban make things worse, because you can not update game through Nintendo server.

You cannot add game updates/DLC directly to the Mig Flash. You can only use legitimately purchased DLC that already works on the Switch you want to use Mig Flash on and for Game updates they too must have originally been downloaded directly from Nintendo or transferred from another Switch using the version match feature. No fake signed DLC or updates will work.
 
Will it get detected even if you never lunched a game on mig switch. You see I tried putting it after I got my Switch 2 just to test and it shows the games of course but I did not dare to run the games.
 
I recently bought an oled model despite me having a pc, deck oled etc. So what if I never connect this oled to the internet & use the mig switch? Will i somehow get banned with an offline system?

That’s somehow a weird question IMHO… if you keep your switch perpetually offline you’re the one who banned your console…

If you do that, the console can log it and be marked for a ban later when it goes online. And a factory reset can not prevent that. You will lower the resale value of the console.
 
How are Mig Switches detected from the hardware (voltage changes) or software side (cartridge keys)?
I mean it's obvious that console generates flagged telemetry, which results in a ban, but nobaday confirmed, from where exactly?

Yes, but software seems unlikely (considering the telemetry required for the DB actions).
So I guess it's hardware changes in the new console.
There are things that we know Nintendo can detect, even on the Switch 1, like trimmed ROMs. We need to stop using trimmed ROMs for starters. As for anything else they can detect, nobody publicly knows yet.

With MIG firmware 1.2.0 there’s a known methodology for detecting the flash cart regardless of trimmed or untrimmed dumps. Using trimmed vs untrimmed made a difference up to 1.1.9.

With 1.1.9 there was no publicly known methodology for detecting untrimmed dumps, but Nintendo evidently found one used on Switch 2. Firmware 1.2.0 seems to trick Nintendo, but now there’s a publicly known methodology for detecting both trimmed and not trimmed dumps… it seems N isn’t using that.
All seems to revolve around OOB reads, but the fact that we can detect MIG is IMHO worrying… I mean, I’ll keep my flashcarts in a drawer at least until I can’t detect them anymore and we have enough reports of N not detecting them.

That's what I thought But I wanted to verify as I do not like acronyms. Too many have the same acronym but are completely different.

Obviously, trimmed ROMs would throw out of bounds errors.

Is there a possibility that Nintendo can see that XCI itself doesn't contain the certificate as it's separate? I also wonder if there is more inside a legit cart than just the ROM image.

Well, in a correct implementation, trimmer ROMs should still return valid padding ( 00s ? or whatever the padding is ) data when reads beyond the trimmed point are done. Being a trimmed ROM doesn' mean the MiG Flash shouldn't behave as if the ROM was a verbatim copy...
 
Considering that the homebrew "sphaira" can easily detect if the current ROM loaded in the MIG Flash is trimmed or not, there is no reason to believe that Nintendo can't do the same.
