Is there a precise understanding of the function of each of the .bin files yet? Which of these are unique to each cart?

According to certain Russian forums, it is known that Initial Data.bin and Certificate.bin are required to boot a game. Any of the following scenarios will result in a bootable game but a ban.
  • Card ID Set.bin or Card UID.bin are missing.
  • Card iD Set.bin or Card UID.bin come from certain public dumps.
  • Certificate.bin is exchanged with another dump.
Is it possible to swap Card ID Set.bin or Card UID.bin, and if so, will it result in a ban?

Yes, these are known online as "mixed" dumps, and they result in a ban 100%.

Based on the forum posts I have read, mixed dumps are ones which swap the Certificate.bin file. I haven't found any reports about what happens if Card ID Set.bin or Card UID.bin are swapped instead.

Hi guys

What about if i have modded switch with pico for offline play on emunand and i want to play online games too.
Can i boot into sysnand and go to 19.0.1 firmware then go online and play some titles bought by eshop.
That is clear for me but ...
what about games that i have on my migflash v2 ? From what i have read i can not update xci games on mig ? That only is true with xci + 4bin from internet/torrents becouse it can be mixed or bad ? what if i have some private switch games and i will copy it on my migflash in xci+4bin format. Can i update this games with migswitch in my console like original one ?

What is the difference Xci from torrent and Xci cloned from my personal collection ? All that metters is that, my personal collection cloned xci is clear and not mixed ?
And that only 1 copy is online at time ?

Am i understanding it right ?
if i don;;t get mixed files and only copy ori carts i can update games like normal ?

Sorry 4 not that good english as i want it to be

If the games on the mig are your games and no one else's, you should be fine. The torrented files aren't unique like a game you backup that is only yours, since if you don't share it. Nothing to ban you with.

So no downloading pirated games to your mig unless you wish to be banned.

I don;t want to play on the same license an Online Nintendo servers games, just lan or wireless with 2 switches but if i give my gf sec. switch and we gonna play together on my games collection that will end with double ban ? For example I have 1 copy of portal2 and we want to play via lan.. ban 100% ?

Most likely, since it logs EVERYTHING.

Hello all, I was wondering if there is a list of mig compatible MicoSD cards. I one of the v2 migs and have tried multiple different SD cards but keep getting the same flashing red light followed by an "unable to read cart" error from my switch. I've tried an Amazon Basics 256gb card, two SanDisk Extreme cards (64gb & 256gb), a 256gm card from Microcenter, and a Lexar 64gb card. I've checked all of them and they appear to be good cards, but I've gotten the mig to work maybe once before getting the flashing red light and errors again.
I'm worried that I've got a defunct mig, but am unable to return or exchange it. So I want to see if there's is a brand of SD card that is reliable so I can try it and see once and for all if I need to buy a replacement.
Thanks for the help!

@Naturmo do you use exfat?

Yeah, I made sure to format all the cards to exfat before loading the files onto them.

Unfortunately that does seem to be the only conclusion I have, which really sucks. I feel like I have tried everything recommended to get it working, and it still just gives me the same errors. Really disappointing as I was looking forward to using this to back up my games while I travel.

Hi everyone,

I've successfully cloned the hardware of the Dumper, and the project is on my GitHub at https://github.com/sabogalc/MIG-Flash-PCBs. However, this is pretty useless without the factory firmware.

I took a look at the 8 pins off to the side of the board, and I read about programming ESP32-S2 chips via Espressif's documentation. Afterwards, I made a simple programmer board to see if I could dump the firmware.

When I plugged the programmer into my computer with my original Dumper chip, nothing happened no matter how many times I tried. In the documentation, I found something that said "However, enabling Secure Boot or flash encryption disables the USB-OTG USB stack in the ROM, disallowing updates via the serial emulation or DFU on that port.", so I thought it may be possible that MIG makes their firmware flash non-readable.

To test this, I tried using a board with a factory ESP32 on it, and my programmer board was able to get it to show up just fine with Espressif's serial flasher site.

At this point I think I'm done since I know I have at least successfully cloned the hardware, and I'm not sure what more can be done in the way of getting the firmware cloned as well. This would explain why UnlockSwitch has for months had hardware but no working software. I am still working on verifying that my Flashcart clone PCB is 100% accurate, but anything beyond hardware is above my expertise. I hope this data is useful to you guys as this thread has been pretty useful as I took on this project.
