The PSV is Region Free!

So why have it on a gaming system then? Oh and is that £50 more with or without a contract? If it's with that's a minimum contract of 18 months at £16 a month so £338 more.

There is some type of social aspect to the PSV, like StreetPass on the 3DS. Apparently, you can see where people are playing the PSV around you and do some limited communications with them.

Oh hell yes, I can import freely and have my 3G capability, this case closed for good.

Why have 3G when the bandwidth is super expensive, the connections are slow as a retarded snail, and the console cost at least 50% more?

For starters the bandwith has not been announced, for all we know we could get 500MB a month free or something similar. The speed of it is fine for what they want you to do on it (e.g. not online gaming), and the 3G version costs £50 more, not 50%.

Why would online gaming not work o.o?
I live in a shit area when it comes to 3G coverage, and we still get about 4megabits.

SingTel 3G is horrible and slow. Plus I'm already paying for my iPhone 3G service.

region free doesn't mean the 3DS will get hacked any faster.

If it were region free, if a cart exploit was found, everyone in the world could buy that one game to get homebrew, from that cart region. But with region locking, exploits work differently per-region, in almost every case, which would mean homebrew would only work in that one region until an exploit is found in the games of other regions.

(It makes sense to me how I said it, but it may not to you... Sorry :/ )

Region-free is nice, but won't that affect sales in the respective regions via importing? Some regions price electronics much higher than others, and importing may be a cheaper alternative. Nice for the buyer, but I'd assume some sort of huff to be made by the region sellers, and region leaders themselves, even if the number of importers is small.

Since Singapore already falls under the US region for portable games, importing isn't needed.

Anyway we also have all regions of PS3 games being sold here. R3 being cheapest

yes the PS vita will be region free HOWEVER the dlc and stuff you buy from the PS store wont be, it will be exactly the way the ps3 handles dlc and psn games, so you will have to take that into count when buying a game out from your region.

you must be kidding me, ds games are still expensive brand new, i would expect ps vita games to be even more money compared to how much psp games were when they first came out.

unfortunatly there is very few "free" wifi hot spots in the uk, so i doubt any street pass type feature would work in the uk that well, (unless you are in a pub where you can get free wifi but you would have to buy a drink first

) most people would be forced to get a 3g model tbh but how on earth would that work? you can't be carrying a laptop (for your 3g dongle) and a ps vita around with you everywhere you go, that is just asking for trouble...

Apparently Vita games have the same development costs as PSP games. There are PSP games that are $19.99, some that are $29.99 and a special few that are $39.99 nowadays so I'm not really surprised if this is true.

Yes but I mean some 360 games are region locked while others aren't from what I gathered. Some 360 shoot-em ups are like that, which is what I was getting at. But all DSi-enhanced games are region locked on the DSi and 3DS. I may be wrong though.

Apparently Vita games have the same development costs as PSP games. There are PSP games that are $19.99, some that are $29.99 and a special few that are $39.99 nowadays so I'm not really surprised if this is true.

The pricing for consoles for games in the US and Europe are very different, if a game costs $40 US it would be £40 GBP or 40 Europ or thereabouts. No thought is given to exchange rates. For example I still see NSMB, an relatively old game, still being sold for £30 GBP which is $49 Us dollers.

Um, what? The 3G model has 3G built in. That's the point. It doesn't need a 3G dongle or a laptop. ONLY the PSV. It has the "3G dongle" built in to it.
