The problem with that back then was that Pokemon sported a new save format.

Assuming you've updated your card from way back when, you'll be fine.

lol dude give it time, I myself have only just beat the first gym, give it til weekend and it will be packed or... partly.
I will certainly be taking FCs but I have hospital appointment and they are notorious for making me sit in the waiting room for extended periods of time, perfect time for pkmnz
