Wow, I just realized (through some of my knowledge) that Rayder has had a up to date cheat.dat in his sig this whole time. >_>

Anyways, I'll help whoever takes over with whatever you may need. Since I really don't do anything anyways. XD

 

If the code peeps get angry.....I don't know what will happen after that....I'll probably just not even provide it in secret anymore.

You can't imagine how I felt having to stop providing it to everyone, and all the PM's I got begging me not to quit. It really made me feel terrible.

I can't stress enough how much I really do appreciate all the effort the code hackers put into making these codes, but I really have an affinity to GBAtemp and its members to provide the dat for you guys.

I REALLY HOPE THE HACKERS WILL ACCEPT THE TEXT FILE AS SUFFICIENT FOR CREDITS. I can't possibly add credits to all the codes already in there. The dat is over 2megs in size. Please be reasonable.

I'm really tired of all the cloak-and-dagger crap. I just want things to go back to normal.....for everyone.

The next update will be public like it was before. Let's all hope it doesn't go sour.....like it did before.


EDIT: Yep, those Yugioh codes have been added.

The dat is back to a public status.

This update just altered the Namco Museum codes. (just checked them and they still don't work )


This leads me to the next item of importance. We need to weed out the non-working codes.

If anyone spots a code or codes that just flat-out don't work or crashes the game or don't do what they are supposed to, tell me which game, what region and GameID and the code title as it appears in the dat. They will be removed or altered as necessary. This will help shrink the dat's file size and increase the integrity of the dat.

While I haven't removed any codes yet, I already know of 3 games who's codes don't work and they will be removed in the next update;
Eragon (U & E) - Even the friggen backlight codes don't work in this game. They're just gonna be deleted.
Namco Museum (U) - The infinite lives codes for both Galaxian and Pac-Man don't work, and the Invulnerable Ghosts for Pacman code doesn't work correctly (it does some weird stuff ). But the backlight code does work. It will go back to just having the backlight codes and that's it.

That's the only ones I know of right now.

Any and all help with this is appreciated.

As always, if you know of some codes that actually work and aren't in the dat, let me know and I will add them.
The criteria for that is:
Game name and region.
GameID (if possible)
Listing the codes out. Don't just tell me where to find them, I need the actual codes.

I'll likely make a separate thread for the public return of this cheat.dat at a later date. We'll see how things go though.

Haven't done it for a while, but the last time I used a dat I killed the first few games (up to and including animal crossing, so not that many) and that managed to shrink the size a lot, somewhere in the neighborhood of 3/4 of a MiB

Yay! Thanks Rayder! If you need someplace to mirror the file at then let me know. You could also create an archive where all the old versions can be placed at for all eternity.

 

Lol, I was wondering why there was no more link in his comma in the sig. Out in the open. I like the daily updates.

Nice to know that Rayder is takig over once again, but i liked that i knew about the comma link and not many others did. i felt like i was part of a secret gang or something lol
