Zelda: the Phant.... just kidding.

Operation Vietnam was pretty underrated, IMO. It really had some small issues with controls, but not enough to warrant the low ratings it got. Was quite a lot of fun for a budget title.

Touch Detective (and it's sequel) Touch Detective 2 1/2, were greatly overlooked as two of the finest games for DS. IGN gave both games low scores which they clearly did not deserve. As you may have guessed by the titles, they are mystery games. They are very funny and have a lot of things you have to figure out. Plus finishing the touch list and investigation report takes quite a while. Hopefully you got all the touch items during each crime case the first time. Otherwise you'll be redoing those cases over and over again trying to find that one thing you missed. (Though you could always just look it up on a walk through if you give up.) Fortunately, this didn't happen to me in either game, but it certainly could happen to you if you aren't observant. Granted, most of that stuff could probably be touched in the bonus level, but there are some exclusive to certain cases. Both are very good games that I highly recommend. I even uploaded Sav files for both games!

Pokemon Ranger is very overlooked. It's certainly better than all the other crap Pokemon games for DS .Yeah, including Diamond/Pearl. I'm fed up with the Pokemon RPGs getting far too complex, and having far too many pokemon.

Pokemon Ranger is the best Pokemon game I've ever played, and it makes sense since HAL develouped it. (I love all of HAL's stuff (except Arcana)) True HAL was involved with Pokemon Pinball and the stadium games, so those are exceptions.

Pokemon Ranger has the best sprites I've seen for humans in any Pokemon game (in the over world that is (which isn't saying much)) and has the best story line of all the pokemon games, even outside of the DS. Really fun, great graphics, and it was an effective way to get me used to some of the bizarre Ruby/Sapphire Pokemon. Love that game. you must play it.

I'm not sure if it was overlooked, but Magical StarSign doesn't seem to get enough attention.

Garfield's Nightmare. It may sound bad, but it's a very awesome game. By far the most beautiful game graphically, and one of the funnest platformers I've played on DS. (granted, I probably found it fun because it was easy)

IGN said "This game is gorgeous" And even that is an understatement. If you want a fun game with amazing 3D models and graphics, Garfield's Nightmare is for you. Very underrated game.

I'm also disgusted at how EBA/Ouendan Has completely over shadowed Nodame Catabile. If you ask me, if is way more fun than EBA, and has great music due to it all being old, orchestral tunes.

Magical Starsign....... It has a bit of FF and a bit of Mario and Luigi type gameplay ( turn-based batle system). Good storyline and has kept me busy for over 30 hours and I'm at the final boss battle. Hope they make a sequel......

I agree with Nodame Cantabile. I think it would really surpass the EBA/Ouendan series if it had been more faithful to the original compositions.

Also, I recommend Spongebob Squarepants: The Yellow Avenger. Yes, I was actually bored enough to try out a Spongebob game on the DS, and I got rewarded with quite a fun platforming experience. When one comes across 'Spongebob' one would think that it's just a crappy platform game with cameos made by the cast of Bikini Bottom. But this game masks the crappy platforming well with the great graphics and elements of exploration. Definitely worth a try. Only problem is some gimmicky touch-screen elements, but they don't really adversely affect game play.

Alright, lets compare EBA and Nodame Cantabile:

Nodame Cantabile is bogged down with their attempts to include an unnecessary story, relayed through pages of dialogue juxtaposed with anime portraits like every other goddamn game. It has a confusing map screen to anybody whom doesn't understand Japanese that finds you running back and forth in order to open new areas.

Ouendan/EBA is intuitive to the point where it allows _anybody_ to play it with no effort. As soon as you figure out which button is start, you're good to go and will never experience any confusion. New areas open as soon as previous ones are completed, with no frivolous content anywhere between. It doesn't attempt to bore you, dragging itself down in the process.

Nodame Cantabile has some of the most generic visuals I've seen to a DS game.

Ouendan and EBA both have notably original styles that enchance the gameplay experience and elicit interest in whats going on.

The most important aspect of a music game: the soundtrack. NC includes classical music for the sheer fact that it's public domain and therefore royalty free. More to the point, the rhythms of tapping things on screen feel disconnected from the orchestration, more like just tapping your finger along to a generic rhythm. Worst of all, the songs sound like medicore composed midis.

Ouendan and EBA both include popular music tracks they actually had to license to include, _songs that people would conceivably listen to outside of playing the game_. The quality of the songs is remarkable considering the total rom size is 128MB (64 in the case of Ouendan 1) and the layout and composition of icons relates to parts of the songs so it actually feels like the input is relevant to the music. Furthermore, this formula works for all songs so they don't have to change it around every stage yet playing September still manages to feel different from Material Girl.

Am I missing anything? So yeah, EBA couldn't possibly be more popular due to its own merit from being a superior game in every considerable aspect. It must be some sort of conspiracy against underdog games.

That list needs an update:

-Tenchu: Dark Secret
-Pinky Street Kira Kira Music Hour (J)
-Tomb Raider: Legends
-Cars: Mater Natl.

and Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble needs to be marked in red as a "must play."

100% agreed. However, the terrible name and god awful boxart has kept many people away. The boxart looks worse than Horsez.
