Seems it's a quirk mostly thanks to Sony

In order to play co-op you need an Xbox gamertag - and the only way to do that on a Sony system is to link it to your PSN account

You won't run into the same absurd situation if you play the game on the Xbox

Definitely not, only the Halo games after Halo 4, because the Xbox One/Series require it for all games. Original Xbox and 360 didn't.

They've corrected it. Still need a linked surveilance state account for offline though.

EDIT: Looking further, a lot of these are TERRIBLE. Earthworm Jim (1994), Spyro (1998), Sora (2002), The Prince (2004), and Quote (2004) don't even LOOK like their original characters, and that's not to mention Mario (1985) having grey skin.

The more I look at this, the more I believe AI did this
