it doesn't matter if the iplayer has a cpu built into it the other emulators don't need built in computers to run. The only problem is the limited ram. and Sooner or later someone will find a way past this.

The simplest aolution is this, if you know that it can be done and you seem pretty cocksure that you know more than the very wise people telling you the truth then why the hell don't you go and write a GBA emulator for the R4?

What if somebody found a hack to load roms off of the dsi sd card slot would you be able to play gba games? or is it still impossible?

Still impossible, the read speed of the SD slot isn't fast enough.

YOU'RE SO GODDAMN WRONG TROLLEYDAVE, WE ALL KNOW YOU AND THE REST OF YOUR SUPERCODER FRIENDS ALREADY HAVE A GBA EMULATOR THAT WORKS PERFECTLY ON THE R4 SO WHY DON'T YOU JUST RELEASE IT YOU JERKFACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111

I meant like if it reads it as a channel like dsiware (not saying that i can code a hack)

No matter how you phrase the question, no matter what combination of words you string together the answer will still be no. It is impossible to have a standard Slot 1 flashcart GBA emulator. Please get it through your in-denial mind, there's hundereds of threads with posts from hundreds of people all asking the exact same questions you're now asking. There's even a sticky thread in the R4 sub-forum about, I suggest going and reading that because it'll have all the answers to all the questions you're about to ask.

Where'd you get this information?

Someone on the forum mentioned it when talks of hacking the DSi to run GBA games from the SD slot first started. Something like the timing difference was too large to make it viable. It's similar to why there's for slowdowns on the old GBA Supercards. You're welcome to correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, if the sd can read sdhc cards then it'd surely support class 6, right?
That's at least 6MB/s.

'Course knowing Nintendo, I wouldn't be surprised if you were right and they put in a module only capable of 2MB/s or something to save all the money they could.

The problem with GBA games is, that the data has to be accessible instantly when it's needed, otherwise it'll crash. That's why the first GBA flashcarts needed 'speed patches' even though they used NOR flash memory. So it's more about randomly accessing the data anywhere in the ROM instantly.

QUOTE(TrolleyDave @ Sep 20 2009, 03:04 AM) I thought the DSi only read standard SD cards and not SDHC?
It reads SDHC just fine.

That's the information I remember reading! It might even have been you who posted it! lol

My mistake, for some reason I thought it was just SD.

So when or if someone ever comes out with a hack on the dsi cant we just get an SDHC card, then patch the gba games on a computer? will it run?

How many times do you have to be told no before the word actually registers? Are you hoping that if you ask the same question over and over again it will change the outcome?

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH FUCK FUCK WHATS WITH THESE TOPICS WHAT DOES IT TAKE FOR PEOPLE TO GET THE MESSAGE?
