The online services on the Switch that you use are running on the lp1 environment - i.e. production.

What is required to access dd1 though? Do you need a devkit for this? When I tried entering https://api.dd1.av5ja.srv.nintendo.net (SplatNet 3), it threw a 403 - which is strange, as the lp1 environment version at least displays a loading screen before failing due to incorrect authentication cookie.

You try to access an API. It most likely need something to request it with the correct information. 403 is forbidden.

If you replace "dd1" with "lp1", it shows the Splatnet 3 loading screen first before requiring an auth cookie.
still, it's obvious that dd1 need something more than an auth cookie. 403 means forbidden. What's forbidding? No idea! Is it the user agent? The wrong port being called? Who knows?

EDIT: Found a whole section about Splat3 on github. They were talking about commands and info what those servers requested. Not hard to find at all.
