thaddius' Console Roast 2014 Edition: Introduction

Hey y'all.

Some of you might remember my Console Classic of 2012 where I asked you, the members of GBATemp, to vote your favourite console of each generation. The polls were dominated by Nintendo consoles, the PS2 being the only post-NES exception.

Now we're going to go a different route.

Starting next Thursday, February 13th, I will be running a similar poll. The brackets will be the same - each console generation will be put to a vote. The difference? We're not voting for our favourite console. We're voting for the worst console of all time.

So stay tuned folks. And for now, why not share some predictions on what you think the worst console is?

I jest, I jest - still, this is going to be interesting. There's a number of absolute failures that come to mind, both in the "just terribly bad" and the "what a disappointment" categories.

If Nintendo dominated many of the generations as the best, will it also dominate as the worst? A good question in my opinion since they had great games, but in general they were far and few compared to others in a few generations..

The virtual boy is my nominee for worst handheld.

On the consoles...hard guess. The top spot will probably be reserved for some obscure first or second generation console that most gamers of today have, at best, vaguely heard about.

Yeah, provided you can classify that... thing... as a handheld. That, and... well, there's the R-Zone... Then again, the R-Zone didn't cause vomiting or severe headaches... so it lacked in the features department in comparison.

Oh come on... I'm sure there are worse ones out there. At least the Jaguar was innovative - the 5200 failed at everything*.

It wasn't that bad... all things considered. I mean... it had games... that you could play... somewhat. Tiger released worse abominations prior to the Terrible.Com. ;O;

I'm going to encourage people to do a little research, especially with the first couple of generations. We'll see if that pans out...

Jaguar... claimed to be a 64 bit game system... nope.... 32 bit sound and 32bit video handled by 2 separate chips still = 32bit lol
much less that is the most useless controller lol.... freaking phone keypad >.<
