Hi!
I have a wii family edition (so, no bootmii as boot2)
I want to install a forwarder for genesis plus gx. I've found a couple I like, but I want to test them before installing onto my wii, in the case I got a banner brick, or worse (I don't think anything worse than a banner bric could happen, right?)

So, is dolphin a reliable way to test them?

What I'm planning to do is grab a backup of my nand, load it into dolphin and see what happens.. Thing is.. Can the system menu running on dolphin be corrupted by a bad channel?
If the channel loads in dolphin, it is safe to assume it will load on a real wii?

It's the icon view of the channel that causes a "banner" brick so if the icon is visible without a crash on the system menu in Dolphin it should be fine. The banner could still be bad but since that's only displayed when you click on the channel it won't brick the console, just crash it.

You should still be prepared when installing on your real NAND. Make sure you can get to BootMii or Priiloader so you can uninstall the channel again if it's broken.

Yup, that was the whole idea. I can confirm the wads are fine, but none of them load the app (genplus gx, btw) but that's a totally different issue, thanks!!!

PS: Wow! Thread no. 955,600! Did I win the Ipad?
