So, from what I've been hearing, is that Chrono Trigger has piracy protection on it, does this mean roms are nearing an end? Will piracy of DS games cease to exist? I'm hoping not, but this sort of thing really makes me think.

I have yet to find a game that my AK2.1 cannot play. I really would not worry about it.... even if it somehow doesn't work, a patch will fix it in a week. People get so worked up for nothing over these things.
 
look at FF:CC they ahd that annoying thanks for playing screen if the game sensed a flashcard (never happened to me on my cyclo though

My main worry though is the piracy protection. Will they come up with a certain "something" inside the next-gen carts that will bypass it? It seems like a possibility at this point, but I think it's wishful thinking.
 
Every protection system that has ever been devised has been cracked. When DVDs first came out, they were supposed to be "uncopyable". The same with every videogame system. It's just a matter of time.

with the ps3 being one of the harder nuts to crack yet.

but even the CPS3 system has been cracked, so heres hope!
