Just curious, this game is in Japanese, so can i just burn and boot it up with the backup loader, or do i have to do anything special?

If you run the backup loader from the homebrew channel, then you may have to force NTSC. When I play it, I force NTSC out of habit ( i do it with every game, regardless if it's needed or not because a lot of my games are pal) but it may or may not be necessary. if you use a channel version of the loader, just pop it in and play the son of a bitch.
