i know the game just came out, but i was wondering how hard it would be to do a translation of the menus?
i can pretty much figure out what is what just by randomly trying each option, but a translation would be so much easyer
i dont know, what do you guys think?

From gamefaqs board:

1.) Arcade (You start on this option by default)
2.) Vs. (This isn't available unless additional controllers are plugged in)
3.) Survival
4.) Time Attack
5.) Training
6.) Player Data
7.) Options
8.) Shop
9.) Gallery
10.) Original Games (Minigames) (Just above the first option you start on.)

9.) Gallery
-1.) Character
0.) Stage
1.) Background Music
2.) Opening Movie
3.) Special ???

And command lists: http://www.capcom.co.jp/tatsucap/images/commandPOP.zip

well that makes things much easyer, thanks =D
but the thing was i should have mentioned this before, i was thinking like an actual translation of the menus in the game itself
like maybe patching the game to have those menus in english

this game is only for JAP so far
maybe the guys that changed textures for ssbb can do something for this

Does anyone know if this is possible?

I am really not sure. Since the texture hack project is nearly done, maybe you can see if they can help. Not sure it it is in their field or even in wii hacking has made it far enough to do that.

I have tried it but my problem is that i don´t know how to unpack/repack fpk files and i have not much experiance

.
I found a Tool but it´s only for Civilization.

is there a PAL or NTSC-U date set? btw thanks for the helpful post sl33p

Don't expect it to be released around here.... since 99% of the populations probably don't know who the hell are Tatsunoko

Remember Namco Vs Capcom ? it was never released outside japan.

I never even knew such a game existed. Now I won't be able to sleep. Namco vs. capcom... I bet it' awesome + 1.

okay I've just downloaded that file, what does it do?

it can be very possible. googled around and found a few programs that have proved positive in proceeding with this project. a .fpk extractor, brres.exe a .brres extractor, and tplextract to convert everything to png. I've lurked around and I edited a few PNG files of morgan.

The .fpk files are easily obtained using wii scrubber. I plan on spending some time tommorow to try and isolate some menu files.
I do have some problems I need to overcome:

- No clue on how to repack these files back into .fpk
- Alot of texture files I have no idea how to open.
- I'm a noob.

im gonna include the files im using in hopes of keeping this idea alive, although MANY consider it an absolute waste of time being that the game is pretty self explanatory. I like this game alot, and dont feel like waiting until next spring to share it with some friends in a language we all understand!

when and if i get somewhere, I'll start a new thread.

Thanks alot!

Actually, count on an American release:

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/18/capcom-c...m-localization/

I mean, we could try to hack the menu, but what's the point when it's being localized in America in a few months anyway?

Don't get me wrong, the Japanese version is fun and I played the shit out of it, but the American release is supposedly getting 5 new characters and wifi support (which Capcom subsequently denied, but I doubt they'd release it without adding additional characters as one from the J version has been confirmed to be cut from the roster) so it seems like a waste of effort to me to localize the menus when an English version is coming out soon anyway.

Hakushon Daima? is the only character who's been cut, and in my opinion he was more annoying than anything else anyway. Hell, as long as Ryu's in I don't care since I'm a serial abuser of how over-powered he is, and in this game it's worse than usual (seriously, 8ing, wtf?!?! 4 special moves when most chars get 3, SUPER high priority on close attacks, a competent ranged arsenal, and even the best assist in the game? so what if his super dragon punch kinda sucks, the super Hadoken and Tatsumaki-Senp? Kyaku are more than powerful enough. If it weren't for the inclusion of baroque attacks, this game would be so pitifully broken due to Ryu).
