Hacking Question System menu ver not showing

Hey, all. I've already updated to the latest, so it's too late for me to put this unit aside until cooler stuff happens. But, out of curiosity, and for future reference, before I updated, instead of saying my menu version underneath "System Update" in the options, it just said something like "an update is required."

Is there another place I could have gone to see where I was at?

No, it kinda hides what you're on unless you delete the update data. An odd choice honestly.

No its actually quite smart. Its done specifically to obfuscate it from generic users vs. power users.

Power off your device completely, hold down power, volume up, volume down at the same time. When it boots it will bring you to a safe mode. Exit, restart, the update won't be there and you can see what firmware you're on
