yay but i never tried it because i only have one backup and its in ntsc u and my wii is ntsc u

Yay !!! Good News !!!

The rebooter Channel is working !

1. Install the Rebooter channel Wad
2. Start the Rebooter Channel ---> The Sys Menu will reload onto region free mode
3. Pop in an out of region DVD
4. Start your backup with the Disc Channel

Et Voilà !!!

We desesperatly need the code in that to put it in a modded SysMenu.wad ... that is "THE" solution !

Edit: I'm out for an hour to go outside playing with my kids and i'll come back to do some intensive testing and read/look/investigate the code into the reloader source...

some guy says hes got GCN backups working maybe if it does (not likely) you could implement it into the menu?

edit: it says not backups but originals

If Nintendo releases a new game that uses a new IOS, what is going to happen to this?

Will a patched version of that IOS be released under a new system menu?

BTW: I have checked the rebooter source and that's exactly what we need, but that job need to be done inside the DIP7 so it can work straight from the POWER button, and we need a charity programer who can modify or the MCI so he can add that piece of code there and the DIP7 has that by the time of patching the IOS'es....!!!

diggitydoggs you're right. We need to permanently patch this section of the sysmenu --> 0x28, 0x1B, 0x00, 0x01 to this 0x60, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00

That's what the rebooter do.

We need someone who is able to include this little change into the sysmenu.wad and it should be permanently set to region free for PAL-NTSC-JAP consoles.

yes thats what i figured out last night, i only pulled the three codes that needed to be changed. I'm not going to make any changes to the system menu until i manage to figure out the video codes as well.
As to the person who asked about new IOS's we simply patch the new one and then install it.

Examined the code from the link to the other menu loader source by red squirell derviced from the gamma rebooter... Anyhow here is the only code used for vidpatch in that.... Although i don't think it forces anything, and it definately doesn't have the code needed for each region->another region.
0x4182000C,0x4180001C,0x48000018. If anyone has a copy of the source to either of the following please link it or pm it to me: Gamma Loader (not rebooter as it doesnt force any video mode) WiiFrii 2.3b, or Video Mode Changer.

But the rebooter do a video patch isn't he ?

When i put a PAL game and i use the rebooter channel the game appears in the disc channel and it load ok. In a NTSC video format i mean...

Maybe its because i have component/rgb cables that can display PAL video signal on my NTSC TV.

With the rebooter code inserted in the System Menu and rgb cable all games (NTSC and PAL) will load and display correctly.

Correct me if i'm wrong...

Does anyone have a link to a PAL wad manager iso. I want it so i can test out the auto boot function as the NTSC one gives me an error

Your wrong, that fix would only be useful for those whos tvs support both pal and ntsc. The rebooter doesn't patch any video, hence all the people wishing you could force a mode with it. It works for you because your tv can display both video modes.
Bozzer wrong thread

Also remember now folks, to test this we at first just need to patch one IOS (say 20 or something) not involved with system menu and try out with an out of region game using that particular IOS. This way, basically no brick risk what so ever, since you can always pop up Wad Manager and reinstall it ...

if you guys are going to start talking about patching the system menu, If you do manage to get it to work, dont release the info on how to do so here, you'll need to write up a program the will patch the system for you and do it safely, Because if you just release how to do, Your going to have many bricked noobs, Thats just my advice,
