Install softmii simple installation is easy with a guide somewhere,I think its in one of the stickys.

yep cause all you do is replace the #######.app in the wii menu (be sure to have preloader installed before getting dirty)

Don't waste you're time with Softmii, I'd recommend MiiWii, safer, easier, and you don't have to act like one of those jackasses who seem to think they've "installed" Softmii.

whats miiwii? i tried googling it
 
I never really understood what MiiWii was either. I think its just another package with tons of features like preloader. I don't care for either of them, i stick to the good old fashioned editing. (Editing system menu wad, repacking, installing with wad manager.)
