I saw this Reddit thread of somebody who got SysDVR to playable latency over wifi. I was wondering if the same could be done over USB, and once I had everything together VLC just crashed whenever I opened the stream.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Edit: If I manage to do so I'll write up a guide on here

Edit2: Just wrote a full guide including network and USB support, you can check it out here!

if you look into the comments of the reddit post, the OP will tell you how he did it. you can do the same on usb. using a usb3 port and usb3 to usbc cable will help with data rate. everything else are just vlc settings

Always get these errors
[Video] Error writing to listener 127.0.0.1:62838
[Video] Removing session 3 due to write error

On these errors, VLC crashes

either you didnt install the right usb drivers or you have the wrong vlc settings.
and check if sysdvr is actually running via the config nro

i think its unnessesary. how you configure vlc for that is written on reddit and how you use sysdvr is in the readme.
instead you are missing a few points and got one setting even wrong. atleast according to the reddit post.

not updating vlc is bullshit btw

VLC 3 has a hardcoded buffer.

Last time I tested the configuration of the reddit post I had some latency and so it was not playable.
I will test again with your guide and report my results
