Hacking SX OS licensing question

Hopefully a simple question here.

If I use the license included in the dongle am I stuck booting from the dongle forever, or once activated can I boot from the phone or computer instead?

If I would be stuck with the dongle I may go software only.

No. Once activated, the license is stored on your microSD card under license.dat. You can use any method to boot.

Just buy the license code if you don’t want the dongle. Way cheaper

No, why? The license is stored as license.dat on root of sd, after activate

Yes, but you got no license code. If you lose the dongle and the license.dat or your sd card gets corrupted you cant activate sxos anymore.
