So they made at least 2 million dollars even if they had to pay china taxes (which I highly doubt) and had production costs of 500 000 bucks. Wow!
Whoever said pirating would only interest a very small user base was clearly wrong!

100k vs 20 million sold switch? Yes it's indeed a small pirating user base. Learn to do your math

Maybe everyone should stop supporting R4 and it's clones, they were a cancer to the DS community.
They didn't add brick codes that prevented people from modifying their kernels, admittedly though R4 clones like the R4i-SDHC are a cancer due to their timebomb in the kernel. That being said, flashcarts were the only option in the DS days, the DS didn't have much in the form of internal memory. This on the other hand is far more comparable to the 3DS scene, where they may have made the first backup loader, but there's going to be better alternatives for those who wait. This product is going to end up the same way as Gateway 3DS and due to their close-source and brick code users are going to end up lagging behind the community.

With long delays in releases and using community code for several updates.
I am not saying that they are going to ditch it any time soon, I am saying that they are going to lag behind when the community starts finding new exploits and really starts booming.
If we've learned anything from the most recent past, it's that these kinds of teams start become a slow growing cancer. The community moves past them and they start to lag behind, dragging their users back with them. There's going to be better options in due time and supporting these kinds of teams only hinders the community in the long run. These teams never change and history has only showed that they can't be trusted.

If that happens people can choose, cancer is the battle that open source fans always make, if TX still is better in the long run i will still use it, on the 3ds I still use the gateway because of cheats and 3ds files support, everything else works even today

I will observe just as I did with the 3DS scene. Personally I hate close-source tools like these, I simply can't trust them.

I get why they did , and I get why we do not like it.

But all in all I cant say they have made a bad product or anything. In my book that means they deserver the money provided.
For me it's all about the comfort of digital when I am a physical collector. That in itself is kinda priceless or well
take roughly 40 titles x an average costs of a switch game ... lets say 45 euros = 1800 euros
and their asking price is more then justified in my book., and that will only become better and better.

Is brick code something to like. nope. But protecting what you made is whichever way you twist it.

As stated by the one that tried to crack the loader he only got bricked because he was tampering it to crack it

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If something is modified it should stay when you reboot, everything is worked only until reboot yo should be good :P

Thank you! But maybe they cant modify the system to boot the switch into the CFW but they can add something todo the NAND (that could explain the fact that we need to launch the payload everytime we want to use the SXOS)

I dont know, im just afraid that a future OWF upgrade could be incompatible with something that the SXOS did yo the NAND.

Btw, sorry about my english...

TX can easily incorporate anything from the community they want as soon as it's released, while the community is lagging behind.

I think we need to wait quite a while before your prediction could become true.

I am just stating my observations of the past and how I think the future will turn out. I could always be wrong and not actually trying to predict the future. I've seen this before and I am stating the outcome of my last observations on a similar event in history.

You know that all R4 cards are clone cards right?
We have to wait for other options such as Atmosphere or another team before we can pick and choose. Time will come, since SciresM and the crew doesn't have a money incentive, it will take a longer time.

Maybe I'm being pedantic, but it doesn't read that way.

"I am saying that they are going to lag behind when the community starts finding new exploits and really starts booming."

But if you meant to write:

"If the community catches up and surpasses TX and SX OS sales trail off, then the updates will slow down or even stop".

Then I agree with you.
