ROM Hack SX OS Backup 7 DLC query

Hi guys, I have looked around a lot of threads but cannot come up with a clear answer on this. If I were to download DLC packs, update packs and voice packs (example xenoblade chronicles 2), how do I apply them to the game? Do they go to a certain folder on the MicroSD card or do we then transfer them to the system memory. If so how? Any advice appreciated.

Only those where new cart revisions came out, including updates - such as Zelda
