I will install my SX Lite tomorrow. This is a genuine chip, not a clone. I have some questions:

- Is there any reason to update or not update my Switch Lite? It's currently on version 8.1 and has never been connected to the internet.

- Can you use a Windows virtual machine to install Spacecraft NX? I only have a Linux computer and don't want to install niche drivers on a friend's computer.

- If I cannot install Spacecraft NX, is it still possible to activate SX OS? Are there any limitations, such as newer games being unplayable and sysclk not working?

- Does anyone have the link to a particular installation video? It was about 20 minutes long and posted around the time the SX Lite and SX Core were first released.

  • The highest firmware the default CFW it supports which is SX OS is 11.0 so if you update the firmware now, you will no longer be able to use SX OS
  • That should be possible
  • You do not need Spacecraft-NX to activate SX OS

Does this mean I can't play games which require FW above 11.0?
Can I use sysclk on SX OS?

You can use pre-patched XCI images to keep playing on 11.0, most firmware requirements can also be patched out with NSC_Builder and Tinfoil. Also always use emunands, set one up for SXOS and keep it at 11.0 (for XCI loading support) and set another one up with Atmosphere and update that to the latest version. If you don't care about playing XCI's off HDD just use Atmosphere. Do not touch your sysnand or update it, you'll burn fuses and lose the ability to use SX OS.
