We all have to start somewhere and im happy that you've done so, but why don't you make actual real contributions to the codebase before taking someone elses work and rebranding it as yours? I get that you're excited to have your first release....but its not very nice to take others work, do literally nothing, and repost as your own.

Please be considerate to developers in the future. If you want to contribute, use the pull feature and submit code updates directly to the CompSciOrBust/CalculateNX github.

If you really want to use someone elses codebase as a platform, thats great and thats why we have open source...but try to make real contributions before slapping your own name on it. If 100% of the functional code is CompSciOrBust's, and you've added no function or features (easter egg really doesn't count as a feature or functionality), then its not really your release and its a bit slimey to rebrand it.

I can't seem to find anything in the repo that looks like it was taken from my project. Maybe you meant that Thom who I've been told also made a calculator but with no GUI?

You should have forked thomleg's code.
Copying code to a new repo and removing all traces of him is rude IMO.

Also you can't just erase thomleg out of the license.

I thought that rewritting most of code and actually updating this version would make this different, but I guess you're right... sorry, but we are all humans and we all make mistakes, so my next homebrew will be 100% original

Have fun writing ARM assembly then haha.
Seriously though using other people's code is fine, that's one reason we have open source but you're supposed to credit people if you use a large amount of their code or the code you're using is the core of your project.

Ooops! Looks like this was just a coincedence/timing thing. I thought that this was just a clone of CompSciOrBust/CalculateNX , which you have to admit looks *exactly* like Calculator-NX , which was posted 1 day before you posted yours! I simply confused the two (seems a reasonable mistake).

Sorry about that.

Poor thom :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I was serious about that license.
You can't just remove thomleg out of the license because you changed a few lines.

You can get in legal trouble over that.
