I have a 'dead' switch that just refuses to charge

I've tried a few things.

1) Nintendo's "recommendation"
- hold the power button for 20 secs
- disconnect both end of the charger
- plug it in

- unplug everything
- plug in joycons (yes Nintendo said so)
- disconnect both end of charger
- plug it in.

*result = no dice*

2) hold power button, volume + and volume - button (all three simultaneously), hold, then plug charger.
*result = no dice.
i did mod it and auto rcm is on when i plug my switch to my pc TegraRcmGUI says no rcm
i have charged it for more than 24 hours

please let us to know more:

you always use TegraRCMGui to inject the payloads?

can you open the switch and test the battery voltage?

normally if you have AutoRCM enable and your battery dies you need to let the console charging for a while, but 24 hours should be enough.

so far the only tests come to my mind are:
  • Use a USB charger and tester to see what voltage and current the console is consuming from the charge cable.
  • Open the console and test the battery voltage.

Is it even charging at all? Try connecting a usb tester and see if there's any charging current. You can also remove the back cover and measure battery voltage. If the battery's not dead and charging circuit is still working, leaving it on the official charger for several hours is enough to give enough juice to inject payload and load cfw.

i do not have a usb tester i has playing fnf port at 50% battery. I was done playing is a turned my switch off and it never turned on again
I am having the same issues, charged more than 24 hours, tried the battery with another switch and it worked. Any other way to wake my switch up?

👋 do you manage to turn on your switch. My battery has no issues cos I have tested with another switch. Any other way to wake up my switch?
