Today I bought a Switch OLED off Facebook Marketplace, Try to boot goes through the Nintendo logo, then the switch logo, and it says: Couldn't Start the software
Not super modded savvy so any help is greatly appreciated
Did try updating it in maintenance mode and completely initializing the system to no avail.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is it chipped?

You can't soft mod an oled. If they told you it was hacked then you got scammed. You don't explicitly say if that's the case but original post gives that impression.
Nah they didn't say it was hacked, they just said it was a switch OLED missing the controllers, it just won't boot for some reason. He showed me he was trying to factory wipe it but it wasn't from in the setting just he recovery menu

I got a V1 switch that I was going to mod after getting an OLED as I thought that I would probably use the OLED more in handheld mode and would protect my account more then anything

No idea what might cause that, unless it was hacked previously and they unhacked it by removing the chip. Someone else might have a better idea but if it were me I'd do an RMA. I'm pretty sure the Oled model launched less than a year ago so it should still be under warranty even if you can't prove when it was purchased.
