Just picked up a switch from eBay - I usually hope for the hardware fixes as I'm not too knowledgeable with the software side... Unfortunately this one seems to be software related.

Either way, looking for some guidance. This particular console does not power on however, it charges at the normal rate AND has no shorts on the board. I did try switching out the EMMC module for another I had laying around and now it will boot to Nintendo logo and shut back off. This makes me think it's related to the firmware on the console.

Next steps would be appreciated. I just ordered an RCM jig to check the fuses burned. I guess at this point I'm wondering what I should try? I feel like I've heard of issues relating to the number of fuses burned vs firmware level; maybe this console is mismatched?

I appreciate any feedback, I'm here to learn so someone please school me [emoji3]

There is soft called: briccmii it might help you to repair bricked data in EMMC. I had one console from eBay with such easy fix.

I have a similar issue, was going to post about. When I get chance will try swapping the emmc too.
Can you keep posting on any progress to give me a few ideas.
Thanks

Yep. Went on a last minute motorcycle trip to northern Michigan. Will let you know how it goes with briccmii once my RCM tool arrives.

So I believe this console had been tampered with already. When I plugged into my comp, the console registered immediately as APX. I installed drivers and used BRICCMII to check burned fuses (9). I did not need to use the RCM jig, so I assume someone had already loaded custom firmware (perminantly boot in RCM) and somehow caused it to not turn on in the process.

Either way, I ended up loading fusée gelée onto the console, it booted right up.

I used this video as a guide.

Thank you for direction!
