whelp, before anyone else does, I'm calling it now.

Switch will be a repeat of the WiiU, and will be completely abandoned by third parties by the 2nd year from launch. Most of them will jump ship after the first year because Nintendo is infamously terrible like that, and the rest that matter will leave the system by the 2nd year.

Lol, that doesn't mean anything, the Switch also needs a CPU. And it's technically impossible to pack 4 Tflops in a tablet unless Nintendo has alien technologies. It will be either a Tegra X1 or a Tegra X2.

it is possible to do it they could have downed it a little when running on handled mode but as it is plugged on the dock it would regain full power im pretty sure Nintendo knew people wanted specs... so it will be more like 1tflop + anyway... it will be on par with top gen consoles and games as it run unreal engine 4.

Cool, we now have a temper who can read in the future.

so do you? you said it will be a tegra x1 or x2 please note that it is a custom gpu inside the switch custom tegra maybe but they stated on their website that it is on par with their top gpu and a 1060 geforce with 3go sell for about 120$ i mean if they made a deal with nintendo and state that it is on par it is likely to be near 1060 power.

Even if you check the frame-rate it was a mere demo ... for the Controller being hacked to work for pc, i think it is a good thing i have some LOL fan friends that think about a combination between a joy-cons and the mouse i love the idea of a easy way to bring a new way to play!

I see why people are skeptic about the Switch but going on hate mode about it is very sad comparing frame-rate and graphic before the release is stupid to be honest , i mean it is clear that Nintendo don't intend to be similar to the Xbox One and Ps4, the Wii u case is the last console of the sadly Defunct Big N Ceo Satoru Iwata in an attempt to continue the dynasty of the Wii since it was a huge success .

Be doing this he intended to bring the Wii Dynasty into the new console the Wii u in a last effort of doing he last success console before passing away.... but failed miserably because of the lack of support of the people rejecting it because it was not clear if it was just a Wii upgrade ... so all 3rd party went away, letting the Wii u rotting away with with our dear Satoru Iwata . The spec didn't help as well but the console was a solid proof that Nintendo bring thing to the world not to be a powerfully machine but being a fun box.

The Nintendo Switch is Fan combined complain about the Nintendo put inside one thing it with some Dynasty of Satoru Iwata and some of the best idea i have ever seen , the biggest alliance Nintendo ever made with going with Nvidia and bringing new concept on controller a console that can push to 1080p should be sufficient as today 720p is very good for a 6.2 inch screen as i know some iPhone 6-7 still live with the 720p resolution as today ...

The Switch hate train should stop now!!! give it a chance people please... i am pretty sure it is a good deal for it point price and the games coming in should be sufficient for you over waiting fr new Nintendo biggest title to drop off and why not some big 3rd party game too i mean having 80+ games coming in is a solid line-up ahead in 2017 only!! Imagine 2018!! full years of new announcement Maybe a New Metroid? have fate in the console or leave it as it is if you don't like it.

I shall have to finish up my nunchuck adapter for the PC. The mouse look, movement stick thing seemed like it might do something.

On demos then this was in early January for a game released in March, and the third of March at that, and as far as I could tell (and they did want to get the controller and screen in shot, even had people there to enforce it) it was all happening on the actual console. Could be old code (not that version numbers mean anything but it said 1.something on the title screen), could be the thing you hear about with demo builds almost becoming parallel developments (see something like Aliens colonial marines for something of a more explored example there) and could have some other mitigating factor.

On the failure of the wii u then as far as I can see it had more to do with being both underpowered and hard to code for (always a winning combination), with a bad online service (for better or worse a necessity in this day and age) and possibly related to the previous two but lacking key libraries and development frameworks. To chalk it up to a marketing failure... just no.

People keep forgetting that nintendo isn't about graphics, but games. Visually speaking the Gamecube was very far behind in graphics, (and yes it didn't sell well) and yet it has some of the best Nintendo games to date! The Wii U was a pretty ok console graphics-wise, but it didn't have that many powerful titles. The biggest Wii U game i can remember right now is Super Mario Maker, which is just a level editor for older games.

Good for Nintendo. What about all the devs that just want to take unreal, stick some nice models in there and add some logic on top? That tends to mean overhead and if you lack the capability many will just say don't bother and your system has no games (again).

Also was the GC that far behind? The disc space was somewhat limited which troubled many but from what I could see the flops it could pull and architecture it had was not so far out of line with the PS2 and xbox.
Similarly the wii u was pretty powerful, should it have been released around the time/one or two years after the PS360 and not when the successors to each of those were almost announced.

The Gamecube absolutely was not "very far behind in graphics" for it's generation, I would probably put it just below original XBOX, with Dreamcast in third and PS2 last. Trouble is, most people played it through crappy composite video connections, I have the component cable and games like Double Dash and Twilight Princess look amazing in 480p.

You do know that the Wii was essentially an updated Gamecube right? That's how good it was, Nintendo got 2 generations out of it.

I have a PC, I don't need another powerful device. The Switch, powerful or not, will give me a different experience and that's what I'm hoping for.

Good for you. I am happy you find this approach good for your own needs. For my own needs, i do not give the slightest shit if the switch is powerful or not, (or if it attracts 3rd parties because i own all of the other ones too) what i care about is that they become bigger and get a bigger market share which means more investors and more support and more and more stuff for us in the end. Was i a kid however, trying to save my money and get the best bung for my buck... i would think otherwise. After all, a nintendo console that would have all the ps4 3rd party support would instantly kill all the reasons to get a ps4 in the first place, except for a few exclusives.

Been saying this for a while too. Gamecube was far far better than the ps2, only falling a bit short of the xbox on very demanding games. WiiU was better than the ps3 or xbox too. Just no support. People think support comes magically. They do not understand architecture decisions, power decisions and snobby attitude turns them away. And just because 3rd parties need all that, it does not mean you need to bend at their will. You just need to make them happy while doing your thing. It is just Nintendo is only doing their thing this time around.

Doesn't realy have much to do with the Switch but about the discussion above ...
I guess if they would not have called the WiiU "Wii" again it would have been more successfull

Even though the Wii sold good (as the idea with the Motion Control and whatever sounded good) in the end I know noone in person who actually liked the Wii, only "some" games were okay but mostly those that were good to play with the classic controller. So yeah lot of sold Wii's and lots of people who were not happy with it ... of course they won't buy another Wii even if its a WiiU

Nintendo often has "good" ideas but they are either not good supported or start to get annoying after some time.

This Time the Idea with the Switch beeing Console AND Handheld might not be bad but in the end people will probably use it either as a Console or as a Handheld as they won't bother "switching" all the time

If this comes to pass, maybe Nintendo need to go back to Love Hotels.

A developer has finally spoken out.
Titanfall 2 senior designer Mohammad Alavi recently spoke with Drunk Tech Review about Nintendo Switch, saying that he likes the console but noted that it is very under-powered compared to the PS4 and Xbox One. When he was asked whether or not Titanfall 2 would ever come to the Nintendo Switch, he replied with a very definitive “F*** no! You’re not going to be able to fit Titanfall 2 on the Nintendo Switch.”
It was pointed out at some point that he was basically just speaking opinion just from a first look at the console, without really even knowing anything about the internals. It's safe to assume he was just drunkenly reacting to the question, with some biased opinion based on previous Ninty consoles.

"Biased" keyword seeing as more then 90 percent his\her opinion in this comment section is biased.
