Hi guys.

Maybe anyone of you experts might explain to me, what is happening to my switch. I am using SX OS in the latest version and my switch is on firmware 10.0.

  • Last week I wanted to start SX installer and the switch blacked out.
  • I tried all suggestions, like hold down power button for 15 seconds but the screen stayed black
  • So I decided to send the switch to a repair service
  • Two days later I got a call of them. The checked my switch and the hardware was fine. He told me that it might be a software brick. He can't do anything, so they send it back to me
  • Yesterday I got it back. Of course I tried again. Now I got my switch to boot with the jig and the dongle from SX OS. Yeah!!!
And now I have the following situation:
  • switch is only booting with jig an dongle, otherwise the screen stays black
  • In TV mode everything works fine
  • In handheld mode the joy con on the left side ist not registered to be connected to the switch. It has bluetooth connenction but switch says it is not in a "railed" connection
  • Touch is not working properly.
I am wondering what exactly happend to my switch. Did using SX installer on switch version 11.0 burn my fuses or something like that? Why are joy con and touch is not working properly. Did the repair service guys do something wrong or what else could that be?

Thx for your advices!

I managed to get the Touchscreen working again with hekate and the Calibrate Touchscreen Tool.
Hekate also tells me, that i have 7/6 fuses burnt. But I don't know what that means.

I think I solved the booting problem too. I turned off AutoRCM in the bootloader menu and it is booting normally again. But I am 100% sure, that I never activated this option. I am wondering if SX Installer might have turned this option on without letting me know...

The only problem right now that is left is, that the connection of the left JoyCon ist not working. Maybe the rail on the left side is broken?

The problem with trying to help someone with a hardware problem is that it's hard. If a picture is worth a 1k word, then a video is worth much more. I recommend that you go on Youtube and search for "debug joycon not working". Chances are you'll find something that may be useful in finding out which component is defective. Use your judgment though, because not everything is correct on Youtube. If you're not comfortable doing that, or if you're not comfortable taking your switch/joycon apart, then give it to a repair person.
