is there any way to tell the difference? does the controller have a transparent shell? I thought early switch models did, but I'm not sure. the current ones seem to be opaque. is this correct and a way to tell? the xenoblade controller is outside my price range. ;)

Right now, only the xenoblade 2 controller have that.

Well, considering my regular pro controller has a transparent shell, I would say revised d-pad. (not that I know what that is :/)

the ones I've found seem to have an opaque shell, but it's difficult to tell by the picture. I bought a pro controller from walmart. it comes with a couple extras at no additional cost. however, they're selling the controller by itself as well, so who would buy the worse item for the same price? ...unless, walmart is just trying to pawn off old stock or pro controllers no body wanted and used the extras thing to do it?

the better D-Pad.

a controller that's nearly half the price of the system???

well, it's really not priced at this originally, it's from scalpers.

however, if you love the X1 controller, you can use this adapter for Xbox one controller to use it on PS4 and Switch

it also add motion sensor to the controller.

is motion controls the only thing I need?

That accessory has built in motion controls, so your Xbox One controller will work on Switch or PS4 with motion activated wirelessly, HOWEVER sadly it has built in crap 800mah battery and doesnt let you use your own pack so it last around 4 hours only :( (similar to the crap DS4 battery life).

With my cheap rechargeable Turnigy AA the Xone controller last like a week.

I would really like to know if I buy one Brook Xone adapter if I can fully cut it and use the AA's in my Xone controller to power it up.

If you wants, have you tried using motion sensor on the joy con? It's very fun (no it's not)
Do you need it? Some games need it like Mario Odyssey force you to shake the hou con to do stuff and important tricks.

X1 controller does not support motion, but with this you can do some of the motion sensor tricks in Mario and Zelda.
The other adapters doesn't add motion sensor to the X1 controller.

man, what a nightmare. I guess I'll have to try out one of these pro controllers. I was under the impression that there was a second batch of controllers with a fixed d-pad. my friend told me that the xenoblade's isn't really fixed, just slightly improved by raising the d-pad up a little. it may be like the wiimote's d-pad. I can't tell you how many times it's misread my commands when pushing down. sometimes it thinks I'm pressing right; other times left. I think the problem is the size of the d-pad there though. my main concern is playing 2d platformers like tropical freeze. I feel like they won't be playable with the joy-cons' analog stick or it'll feel awkward. aren't 2d platformers meant to be played with a d-pad?

that one is ugly as hell!, if you shake ur hands you should break Type C port too. just get a NS magic, you can connect wirelessly ur X1/ps4/ps3 controllers

4 me they are over priced, I hate their design and the fact that they have no triggers I wouldnt buy it not even for 50eur... ;)

I'm way too used to triggers since Dreamcast, then Xbox, then Xbox 360... I used X360 controllers on my PS3 with CronusMax.

I like racing games with triggers and specially things like GTA when I'm just having some fun sometimes I try to simulate driving in real life with the precision of the triggers :)

Xone controllers can update firmware even wirelessly, I wish someone could hack their FW of the bluetooth one to work on Switch natively.

What USB-C port? It works wirelessly like a real Switch Pro controller and it fits the Xone controller very hard, I don't own it, but saw on youtube, it locks on the battery port of the Xone controller and connects to the Micro-USB port on the front.

However keep removing it and attaching then may break the mini-usb port of the Xone controller, which is not a real HUGE problem in comparison to breaking the USB-C port of the expensive Switch. I can buy the Xone controller here for less than 50 eur and its my current favourite controller.

ps: It just doesnt have NFC... Anyway I don't care for the NFC and the joy-cons have them if needed...

What are you talking about?
This is wireless, not worried (although you can use wired to the dock).

Do you think someone will attach that controller like that that the switch?

my issue with the xbox 360 controller is also the d-pad. because of the way the diagonals are setup, it misreads commands constantly. in fact, I remember dying a lot in mega man anniversary collection because of this. the wii mote may be the second worst. lol

Yah, i understand that, the dpad on 360 wasn't good, but the new X1 s controller for s very good.

X360 pad have always been a crap, the disc... It improved just a bit on the version that you can rotate and make it into an actual D-pad, but its still not perfect...

I have this one with rotative D-pad:

(This limited edition controller is so AMAZING and have the rotative D-pad, and the best is I paid less than the normal black controller LOL).

Xone Dpad improved A LOT, it is awesome and makes a nice click kinda like a mouse, they really separate each side very good.

Not sure how much "Better" These controllers are, but I'm kinda shocked I didn't know a special Xenoblade Chronicles 2 controller was made, and I bought the special edition game for $100. O_o

Still maybe nintendo will start producing more of them as common purchase controllers.

Just get a Titan Two and you can play with any controller on any device.
Yep, its million times better than those Switch adpaters to use other controllers... You can make any custom script\mods...

I my self have been more a CronusMax guy, but its almost the same as the Titan one... New CronusMax 2 is coming with Switch support, but sadly those devices only work trough USB on Switch, so its a big let down 4 me as I don't want to use my Switch as home console, I never tested the dock neither I care. And even with OTG cable portable it sucks as I would rather get a power bank that can keep my Switch at 100% battery while playing portable everywhere.
