Would a location spoofer be possible in order to play with Japanese players in Splatoon 2? It'd be a real help when a JP splatfest rolls around as I wouldn't have to rot in a Lobby for 10 minutes before finding a match.

Thanks! :)

Splatoon 2 is not region free, to play with the Japanese players, you need to import the japanese version.
It has nothing to do with your IP or Location.

Actually, that isn't true. I have a japanese version of the game and am still matched with European players. So, like Kubas said, I'd probably need something to switch servers.

I think it all depends on your ip, so what you need is a VPN. But through an VPN you'll probably have a very bad ping.

Well, some old MMOs use to have region locked websites, so you couldn't download clients from say korea or china. However, using an anonymous proxy, you could download them and play them just fine.

I'd suggest trying to find a fast proxy (you can google for proxy lists) and see if that will work, usually latency isn't too bad if it's a decent server. Just be sure to use a server from Japan. If that doesn't work, you'll likely need a vpn as already suggested.
