I just bought this modded switch, the seller claimed to have bought it like this and know nothing about modding. When I turn it on, it gives me the insert sd card. When I put the sd card with the hats files on it, I can't boot it up and it only turns on in maintenance mode to a blue screen, did i get scammed?

Bluescreen is often an issue between the Nvidia chip and RAM.
Sometimes it's an issue with the eMMC like it's been corrupted.

You could try to shut off the Switch, and reboot it to Maintenance mode. Hold down Vol + and Vol - while it boots.
From there, try to update or restore.

when i try to put it in maintenance mode it gives me the blue screen

also, when it has the sd card in, it won't boot at all, i can only do maintenance mode for a blue screen

Then I'm sad to say you might have a dead Switch on your hand. Someone with experience need to check it for hardware faults.
It should say "NO SD" if you try to boot it without a SD card in.

are u able to get in contact with the seller?

I remember fromearly stage of picofly, it has this kind of bsod due to boot0 corrupt by pfly fw. Flash a rebuild boot0 from proper emmchaccgen or maintenance mode update sometime would fix it. But bsod may relate to soc or ram as well, try until you give up.
