Switch Genesis controller on PC?

Hi all,
I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere, which surprises me.
It was so awesome of Nintendo to make Genesis and N64 controllers, albeit not so awesome that you can't buy them in stores.
I love playing Genesis games on my PC emulator on a superior Xone controller, but would actually go on Ebay and buy a Switch Genesis controller if I could somehow connect it to my PC.

So can it be done?

Can't confirm personally, but I'd imagine it would work with whatever software lets you use joycons and pro controllers on PC.

That actually makes sense.
And it seems like the Pro controller can easily be connected to a PC.
Still hoping for a first hand confirmation though...
